This Privacy Policy describes how Surethrift Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects the personal information of users (“you” or “users”) who utilize our accounting app (“App”). By accessing or using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 User Identification Information:
A User cannot create an account on the Surethrift App. You are expected to already have an account with your host Cooperative Society before downloading the Surethrift App. You will need an Account Number issued to you by your Cooperative Society, to be able to login.
If you are not a customer/member of a Cooperative that uses the Surethrift Accounting Software, this App is not for you.
To authentic an account owner, we may collect and store certain information such as your Cooperative Account Number, Email and Phone Number which is encrypted during transmission, to enable you access your existing account with your Cooperative.
Your Phone Number and Email are needed for transactional alerts for transactions posted to your account by your Cooperative and may also be used to provide you with security & version updates.
1.2 Profile Picture (optional):
You may choose to upload a profile picture to personalize your account. The profile picture is stored on our servers to display it within the App.
1.3 Device ID (optional): Your device ID may be collected during app installation to enable the Surethrift Accounting Software send account related push notifications to the User.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
2.1 Account Operation:
We use the collected information to operate, maintain, and improve the functionality of the App, including user authentication, account management, and customer support.
2.2 Communication:
We may use your email address to send you transactional notifications and other important account related information. We do not send unsolicited, marketing or promotional messages.
2.3 Data Storage & Backup:
We may store any collected data for as long as your Cooperative Society are a customer of Surethrift Accounting Software. If your Cooperative terminates the use of our software, we will promptly delete your data from our systems. We understand the importance of data privacy and are committed to ensuring that your information is handled securely and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. SHARING OF YOUR INFORMATION
3.1 Service Providers:
We do not share your data with third-party service providers. Data collected by any third-party SDK such as a payment API is encrypted and the transactions are performed on the third party service provider’s server. These service providers will only have access to the data you provide them while using their service, and only to the extent necessary to perform their functions.
3.2 Legal Requirements:
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend our rights or property, prevent fraud, or in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users.
4. DATA SECURITY
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Our App is not intended for by individuals under the age of 18.
6. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Privacy Policy in the App. Your continued use of the App after the changes will signify your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
